Geesh ! I have had trouble typing this post – anyway I say it I don’t like the way I sound, so I’ll go with the blunt way….I too, like Steve, have no budget and have no desire to track it since it just doesn’t matter. Percent of income? Less than a fraction of a percent spent on restoring 40 year old corvettes less than a fraction of a percent - my two hobby’s. spent on wine …. 10% posted with a smile.

Like others I don't track what i spend on my tanks, I always looked at it the other way, how can i have a nice bunch of looking tanks for less. witch i think i have done fairly well, being i have spent less on my hole fish room and tank build then most spent on lights and skimmer alone. ;D

for a dollar amount how about less then 60 bucks in the last 6 months.

if it ain't broke don't fix it..... works for me

Hey guys...Not looking for direct munbers. As you guys sated it doesnt matter and hurts to keep track. Just trying to figure how much spare money do you contribute?

For instance...I've got a year under my belt so Im still considered a newbie compared to some of you but when I virst started this thing I was so addicted that with the exception of bills I literally was using every dime I had on my tank. Now I cut back but I still spend $100-$150 a month. Which a damn car note!!

in three months im in 1500. Damn credit cards! i walk in the LFS to get some R/O or filter care and of course something in the tanks catches my eye... my 10-20 dollar purchase becomes a 100 one. FML lol.....

Like u and Steve costs aren't a concern, since everything is set-up I guess my addiction costs about 2% monthly about $150 for maintenance and 2 coral colonies. I'm retiring next year so this tank is becoming my grow out tank for my 180 peninsula which I'll start in the fall. I expect that % to rise.;D
