How big of a sump do i need

    I have a 55 gal. tank and want to build a basic sump filter for it.
    How big should i go?
    Can i just use a 10 gal tank?
    Does anyone have a good design? (Very easy to follow)
    Note space under my cabinet is limited:-[

    Go with the largest possible sump, later on you will be glad you did. There are sump designs all over google, along with standard tank dimensions for any fitting questions.

    I would do at least a 20 long thats what I did. Your really limited as to what you can put in a 10 gallon.
