How often do you guys change your water? And how often?

Not trying to get bashed here and I hate to admit this but I used to be really good about changing about 10% water every other week, but I've really been slacking lately. I've gotten so busy lately that I don't think I've changed any water in probably 6 months. And now only top off with tap water . I used to be religious with buying distilled or r/o from the LFS. Just can't find the time anymore :-/. Don't dose anything either.

Fish have been doing great. Corals growing just fine. No algea problems. Water is crystal clear. Checked all my params about a month ago, all checked out perfect.

So what's gonna happen next? What if I go another 6 months without changing any water? Is there anybody else on here that doesn't really change any water (or at least not very often)?

I still do water changes. But there are many 3reefrs that do not do them. I think it depends on your system. Mine definitely does better with water changes, but sounds like yours does fine without them.

I do weekly water changes of 20%. Though I am sure many would consider this overkill. I have also seen others that do the same as I do too.

I never change the water in my 37, but I don't have coral (except zoas) or clams in there. That tank is a happy little ecosystem.

My 90 gallon needs water changes, once a week, or every other week. If know I need to change the water when everything starts looking a little sad. I also don't dose, so water changes keep my levels up.

I think there are quite a few people who never do water changes.

I've done about 2 or 3 water changes in the last 6 months. I dose between changes though and test regularly for abnormal readings.

i hardly ever do water changes. ive only done 2 small ones, maybe 5%, at different times

that said, i only have a couple pieces of new, soft coral

hard corals would mean id need more

I do a two 10% w/c's per month. Lately that's only if I remember or feel like doing them. I've been dosing coral-vite and essential elements lately.

5 gallons once a week. Been doing this routine every week since the day my cycle ended. I get my water from the LFS, never made my own or used tap. I also do not dose anything, feed 3times a day, and have next to no algae, I also have a very large clean up crew so that deffiently helps keep the algae away

2.5 Gallons per week on average in my Biocube 29. Occasionally I've slacked for several weeks and growth really slows down. Clear difference of growth in two days after doing a water change. I don't dose anything.
