I have a 46 bowfront that has never had a water change and is 7 years strong. mostly softies but i have a purple whip and a couple LPS frags that weren't doing well in my pro 55 system that I try to take more care of. The 46gal has no sump or fuge and right now no skimmer either. I dont feed my Dotty or Clownfish either. I had a pistol shrimp that was 4 years old but i think he finally went caput on me. my brittle starfish is also 7, and for the last two years ive had a red linkia thriving as well

We do 15% every other week, weekly filter floss in canister filter with ~5% water changed during dumping canister water, with Reef Crystals salt so no dosing. Want to get a sump but no $$ for now.

10% every week. I do notice everything looks better after water changes. I know I would not like to live in a bucket of my own waste so I do water changes.

25% about every two months. I would like to do it more often but time seriously flies by.
