I have heard of people (mr saltwater tank) dosing both two part and kalk , kalk dosed through ATO and two part manually for me. But how would I dose them together? Like would I leave the ATO on and dose the two part every day? I'm confused. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I wouldn't think they are mixing 2 part and kalk all into the top off. I know Mr saltwater tank recommends a drip for the kalk.

it has been found that the use of old kalk along with the two part calcium will help to maintain a saturated solution of calcium in the tank and help to mantain a stable ph but you must to very careful not to get to much at onetime because kalk has a ph of 12 and can hurt the tank if dosed to much, i suggest you use a good alk and calcium test kit and watch them closely:) and ph tester.

Not sure what you are trying to say... but... It's confusing and seems like you are suggesting combining kalk and the calcium part of two part. I have never heard of this...

to the OP: You would continue to use your two part like you have been and the add the kalk slowly. Start with less than half the recommended and see what happens to your tank. As your calcium and alk rise lower the use of two part. You may be able to stop using two part all together, but many systems demand more calcium and alkalinity than what they are able to dose in kalk. That's why Mr. Saltwater tank is using both. He's using a fully saturated auto top off water (saturated with kalk); this means he is replacing 100% of his evaporated water with Kalk saturated RO/DI and his tank still demands more calc/alk so he uses two part to keep up with demand from that point.

no, that isn't what i was trying to say, using calcium chloride by itself will cause ph swings and alot of other things that i personally don't care for so, we use soda or alk to keep the tank more stable, i have found that if i use cal hydroxide at night dripping it slowly it will keep levels higher for a longer time with a little mag on the side. my cal, alk levels stay more stable, i feel the less cal chloride you use the better, imo it causes to much chemical reactions and isn't as stable as cal hydroxide, i have had alot of success with this method, i haven't seen the mr. saltwater video on his method i'm commenting on what i have done in my own tank. :)
