That is exactly why I dont think that it is that dangerous to pop them. I have accidentally popped them before. with no outbreaks.:)

I will see one or 2 in my live rock from time to time...I think they look pretty cool...as long as it is just a few. Then they just dis-appear.

:yelrotflmMade me laugh. I can be so childish sometimes.

Seriously though I imported some bubble algae on a piece of LR. I tried an emerald to get rid of it but he didn't touch. I eventually decided to nuke the rock.

I found some between the branches of a trumpet coral once. I wasn't going to nuke it so I pulled the coral out of the tank and used a screwdriver to pry all the pieces of bubble out from between the branches. Several of them popped. I then rinsed the coral really well by pouring take water over the coral from a water change. The tank water was discarded and the coral was replaced.

I just had to remove one from a frag I got last week. Had it in my fingers perfectly removed, in till my hand got next to the power head, and it fell out of my fingers and i re pinched it, and popped it.

give me a week or two and I'll tell you if it is safe to pop it. lol

I also run carbon, and a U.V. don't know if that is why I have not caused an outbreak when I have popped them.

Bud, i had the same problem as you do. I had bubble algea, mine was red in color.
I didnt know how to get rid of it. I took the rock out once a month and scrubbed it off, only for it to come back. I added a Yellow Tang into my tank and within the first day it was all gone. Have not had anymore since. I guess my tang loves the stuff and keeps it in check.
