I'd like to raise my own copepods and was wondering if I should feed them anything particular and if there is a strain that reproduces better in regular display or refugium conditions? I don't have anything in my one setup that would eat them right now, it's pretty much an invert only tank, but I'm in the process of building a larger tank in the living room and in that one I'm planning on having some corals and fish that will eat them.

Did you try searching for "COPEPODS" on the search feature on this site? You'd be amazed at what you'll find.

Copepods are in every tank. They thrive on algae, plankton, etc. From what I've read, they also like & thrive in rock rubble and are mostly active at lights out. Our John Mahoney from ReefCleaners can help way better with your questions and provide you with the best strain. Gresham would love to bend your ear also, about phyto & plankton, etc. (food for copes).

A coupla guys on here actually have "Copepod Ranches" to feed their Mandarin Gobies.

    Good Luck!
