How can you safely move an anenome?

    I have a gBTA and it has recently decided to relocat to the top of my tank where my clownfish han no longer host him, any reccomendations for moving him?

    Packleaders Tip from another thread was
    hold an ice cube against the nems foot and it will let go and you can move it without any damage

    Where will you put it ? It will move right back to the top . Try changing the water flows or add more lighting there is a reason its where it is , one could be need of more direct stronger light or more food maybe sent its way or better flushing water movement to clear it's waste discharge away from it. The clown's can get to it . But this is the single most reason to not keep anemones in a community reef tank bad idea its ever tried .. Just be happy its not moving up on a expensive coral..

    keep in mind anemones don't pick the most ideal spot in the tank ... how can they? they haven't tested every conceivable spot to compare against. they pick the first spot they come to that they're happy with. That may or may not be the most ideal spot in the tank/ocean for them.

    So I wouldn't say it's a given it'll move back to the top. You can change your flow up - direct some flow right at it and it'll move in a day... probably. Sounds like it probably will want to stay in the upper areas though with the light it's trying to get. I agree on that.

    What do you have for light's? Thats more than likely the reason for going to the top..or possibly floww...I wouldnt move him.
