    Hello to All,

Just curious - so many threads are dedicated to the performance and specs of all the amazing skimmers out there. Many of you report back on the pros and cons of your skimmers...

I am now curious about how cleanable your skimmers are?

I am talking mainly about in sump skimmers - I will be in the market for one and quite honestly, "easy-to-take apart-and-clean" is as important to me as upfront performance. After all, if you cannot easily clean it, performance will suffer as will the tank in general.

I am interested in how easy your skimmer is to take apart and how easy you can access all the nooks and crannies, tubes and chambers without maiming yourself and/or breaking something in the process. (assuming a normal but thorough cleaning session - i'm not talking power hoses!)

    Your feedback is much appreciated!

I have a EuroReef RS80 and it is real easy to clean, and it does a good job. I have an older one but I believe the newer ones come with a quick disconnect for the collection cup. I dont mind the older one I have you just have to unscrew the cup from the body and it takes about 20 turns.

+K for letting me know :)

is the rest of it pretty easily cleaned? I am talking about those times when you really want to give it a major going-over.

I have 3 tanks in the house 2 have precision marine skimmers all of wich are super easy to clean. The other its a euro reef and that too is quick and easy. I am about to upgrade my pm skimmer on my 220 to a pm XL1 over the next couple weeks as the fish room build comes together and hopefully having a very accessable at that point.
