For 2 days now I have not seen my Kole tang in my 90 gal bowfront corner tank. I have looked inside the tank stand, behind the sump, behind the stand....just vanished! He was really healthy as well, always eating the algae on the glass, eating fine, plump, great colours, etc............He only had 2 other tank mates a yellow tang about the same size as him (approx 3") and a Niger Trigger. He is about 4" long. They have all lived together as tank mates for well over a year now. I even looked down the overflow box with a mirror last night! I'm really po'd! I do have an open top tank but I could not find his body anywhere, unless my cat got to him? Could the Niger have killed him?:angry::-/

My money is finding some bones under a rock, but the cat is a good suspect too.

My cuc is not much, fear of Niger, mostly composed of larger snails which he seems to ignore and rock hitch-hiker bristle worm gallor. I do have some hermits but not an army. No anemones and no serpent stars. This is a 90 gal with a mountain range of LR. Who knows whats living in there. This tank has been running for 3 years. My only 2 suspects are cat if fish jumped out or Niger, in which case the poor Kole was murdered.

Yup, the Trigger is certainly a top suspect

    Sorry,:-/

Fish can flop along ways sometimes when they jump. And like you said the cat could have carried away and you will find it under you bed next month.

    Do you have a canopy?

No I don't have a canopy. Open concept. I lost my Hippo Tang a few months ago now by jumping, but I found his body behind the stand. This is the first time I have lost fish by jumping, and 2 in such short a time.
