I got into reefing because my drug habit just wasnt taking enough of my time or money. A local drug dealer suggested reefing to me and after my first hit i was hooked. True made up story! I was into fw planted and got bored but still wanted a tank and salt was what i ran to! Now ill never be bored and always broke!

I did grow up with FW tanks. They were always my responsibility from the age of 6 and up LOL.

My wife suggested trying saltwater after keeping fresh for a couple years. Once I went to saltwater I never went back to freshwater..

I kept FW tanks for years and never had any problems with them. I got bored and wanted to add some stress to my life, live in poverty, and never go on another vacation so I decided to set one up. Actually I always wanted a reef tank but was worried about the care and cost and I was right I should have been worried. Now I am setting up a new 100g tank to fill an empty space in my living room.

My kids have been really interested in fish for some time, so I used the excuse of needing a center piece in our new formal living room (new house). Now it's a place for my wife to relax and read and just enjoy watching the tank.

It's also a great excuse to learn more and fine-tune something that needs care and TLC!

Our family is currently building a new 150 gallon reef tank. I have a goal of starting to stock it by August. Blue/Green Chromis and several types of Clown Fish as well as LPS colonies and anemones.
