their is a lot of debris which seems to build up on the gsp, and then they wont come out. I blow it off with a turkey baster but then my tank gets dirty. Are their any specifics ways i can clean the gsp?

Brush them off with a old soft toothbrush and change some water flows to keep them clean but brushing sometimes required even then.. If they don't open them its not normal for them to not open daily and miss meal time.

I just yesterday cleaned mines. Like Tangster says, I brush them of softly with a brush. This is even considering that they get constant water flow to prevent debris from settling on them. It's normal for them not to open for a while after doing so. Sometimes mines go for a couple of days w/o opening. Good luck!

I use a turkey baster to blast off all the junk that may collect.

I second the turkey baster. Odd I've never used it to baste a turkey. hehe
