I have Sallys freeze dried plankton, directions say to feed often but only what can be consumed in 3 minutes.

Do I just put one cube in? let it dissolve all over the tank or is this meant to be target fed?

Dissolve it in tap water, dump the contents into a brine shrimp net and then feed.

You want to discard the water that it was dissolved in.

The water will be full of phosphate from the production process. You don't want to add more phosphate than you can help.

If you want a mass amount of algae to show up on your tank, and for phosphates to leech into your rock (potentially hurting SPS when it leeches from the rock into their skeletons), then yes, you can.

    1. Dissolve cube in tap water
    2. Strain plankton out of the water with a brine net, let water go down the drain
    3. Put plankton into tank

I understand the process. not that hard. Im having more trouble understanding the concept. The plankton just becomes distrubuted threwout the water? Not like flake food where it is being directly feed? By the plankton just being molecules in the water the corals will eat correct? also how does the water become phosphate filled? Can the cube just be dissolved in the tank instead? If Iunderstand the chemistry I can better understand the concept.

The cube has a binder in it. It's used to keep the cube in the shape of a cube. The binder happens to have a large amount of nitrogen and phosphorus, so you'd be putting in the stuff everyone usually is working to reduce to near-zero levels.

Plankton flows with the currents in the tank. It doesn't "dissolve", as you'll see if you have it in a cup. It's particulate material. It's light enough where it won't really settle on the rock very easily at all compared to regular food.
