    What kind of clown ?

    If Maroon, Tomato, or Clarki you want to be careful trying to pair them with another clown.

    I think you should get a smaller, healthy clown that is eating and not alone in the tank.

    JW did you add the clowns at the same time same size? and how do you know the female dissapeared? when i got my first clown he looked lonely so i got another one (same size same species, probably collected from the same place) and they were fine. then one disapeared. at first my clown looked lost but hes been doing much better now. IMO a nem or a torch coral is a neccesity for a pair of clowns. i agree with what everyonee else has said though

    Yes, i added them at the same time and one was larger than the other. i am just assuming that the larger one was the female. i do have a nem that they hosted. now the one hosts alone.
