    alright so after testing all three these were the results:

    CL=620=31 drops
    RC=700=35 drops
    tank=700=35 drops

    test said to add 10 of bottle 1 than shake for ten sec, add one drop at a time from bottle two and to cap and invert the tube between drops. count the drops each =20mg/L (ppm).

    so unless I got two bad batches of salt from in diffrent states from two diffrent companys I think my cal test is bad.

    on a side note I have Ecobak running but only 200ml running to start it off do not dose and have 90+ lbs of live rock a nac skimmer t5 lights x6 dsb in sump with clay kitty litter under it for cheep merical mud and cheto in there as well

    I would shake the tube after every drop to see when it changes. I believe that is what my kit says to do, and what the problem is.

    I think you mentioned mixing two different salts. Not sure what this would do to param. but i dont think it is recommended.

    Shouldn't really be an issue actually I have done it many times without a problem.Unless of course one was a bad batch.;)

    will re-test in the am just to see if a 5 gallon WC helped or not but I dont think it was a bad batch because all of the tests came up to about the same number. I think my test is bad but I wont be able to test it from another kit untile monday at the soonest.

    re tested today and just did the problem levels, it was a 5 gallon change on the 24th and I retested early before the lights came on and late before they cut off.

    cal-600
    ph-am before lights 8.0/pm right before lights turned off 8.2
    alk- was right at 8-9 testes three times and was eight twice 9 once
    ammonia-0

    on a side not all my yest kits were made in 2010 and from what I found they all are within an acceptable date so not expired. Also I run a fuge with cheto and a light to help with the ph.

    tested today and here is what I got,

    cal= 520 ;D
    kh=9 ;D
    ph=8.0
    nitrite=0
    ammonia=0

    I have no idea why is got that high but I did use some brightwell buffer to get the ph up as well as the DHK after the first day. I guess there was human error or just somthing to do with the DHK and ph to make it so high. I will get another test from th elfs today tol confirm abd will post results

    Calcium and alkalinity balance out against each other, so you can bring kh up and calcium down simply by dosing buffer.
