how do i fix this?

    im pretty sure the brown line is supped to be in the cup, not at the top of the cone, correct? how do i fix this? its the avast cs1 cone skimmer

    The top of the neck gets dirty over time and needs to be cleaned. As long as you're pulling good skimmate, I wouldn't worry about it.

    Is your skimmer at an angle, or is it just the picture?

    yup, mine gets like that as well, you should really be cleaning it everytime you do a water change i clean out the neck on mine and the cup/tub everything drains to, it does look like your skimmer is tilted? or is the picture playing tricks on us..

    most the brown stuff is staying in the cone tho, never ending up in the cup. thats my concern

    you can raise your water higher in the neck to make it all go in the cup, but it may overflow, looks like its already going in the cup how long ago did you last clean the skimmer from the time you took that pic?

    Are your air bubbles rising high enough so that when the bust they are at the edge of the cup so the debris and junk falls in the cup?

    yea there is brown coffee looking water at the bottom of the cup, i just didnt think it was supposed to turn brown untill it got out of the cone. im only 6 days into this hobby and cant even figure out how to program the lights to come on .. : (

    its been 6 days since its been cleaned

    it might be tildted, ill get in there tomorrow when the lights come back on and square it away.

    looks fine to me. the necks get dirty over time. but if u must prevent that for one reason or another, raise the water level inside the skimmer body.
