how do i get calcium off the glass

    i am starting my 55g build this weekend. the dt i will be using was a freshie tank prior. i have a lot of calcium build in places on the tank. does anybody know of a good way to get this removed without scratching the tank. thanks for the help in advance.

    If its glass, a razor blade will do the trick. Luna

    thanks luna its glass tried the razor gets some off but still some haze especially on the glass lids. might just have to buy new ones. anyother ideas welcome

    soaking in white vinegar can help IME
    50/50 Vinegar and scalding hot water can soften the calcium deposits enough so they can be rubbed of with an abrasive scotch type pad

    yeah C.L.R doesn't work at all and definetly not as advertised

    scrape it, there are scrapers made for acrylic available at fish stores
