So im trying ot figure out how i know if my devils hand is happy with the spot i put him in flow/light wise. Any signs i should look out for last night I moved him to the middle of my tank and he opened up alot and there was high current. Before he was in the middle of my tank i had him in the bottom close to my power head that puts out about medium flow and he was alittle more closed like in the picture. [IMG]

Here is a referance picture for my tank, I had him setting in the middle of the tank last night when he was opend up fully.

The picture above is it closed up from where it was, when i woke this morning. So im guessing opening up (like no yellow showing on the bottom) is good and closed is bad( where it is now?). Its my first leather coral so just trying to figure it all out and do they also turn white or yellow when bleaching?

My knowledge of leather corals is limited I'll admit. The two that I have though go through periods of which they close up and won't open for almost a week. Maybe that's what is going on?

If you just got em last night I would let it low in the track and let it adjust to your tank it'll come around. I had a frag of a leather coral almost melt away come back then drop behind my rock for a while (like a month) then found it while moving my rock around and it was smaller then it was but still alive and kicking.
