How do i make them eat

How do i feed fish that hide everytime i come in the room. I come in the room and they hide for like 20 minutes i put food in and they hide and the other fish snap it up. i lost 2 gold headed sleeper gobys to this also a blue tang its frustrating im concerned about the problem for the sake of any future additions ??

 

This is one reason a qt tank is so important. In qt your new fish don't have competition for food and can get used to being in an aquarium before being put in with other fish.

 

Gold headed sleeper gobies rarely ever accept prepared food, which is why they need large systems with a large sand bed and a good refugium. Not to sound too harsh, but simple research should have been done and that situation would have been avoided.
If the tang was continuously hiding, something was most likely off with either it or the tank.
Are you making sure to observe the fish eating at the LFS prior to purchase?

 

was just hiding when i enterd the room wouldnt come out for food i will try to do more research before buyng things inthe future
