My 45 gallon cube came with a built in corner overflow. I was just wondering what to use for plumbing and how to install it. It's drilled, but I'm not sure what the hole sizes are. There is also an opening on the side of the overflow. Is that where the return goes?

Measure the drilled holes and buy bulkheads to fit the holes. Then buy PVC that fits the bulkheads. The opening should be for the return flex tubing with a flare nozzle. Do you have any pics?

So as mentioned, measure the openings of each hole. Larger one is for the drain. That hole on the side of the overflow is for the return as you thought. I would do a durso drain if it would fit. For the return, just PVC up to the return jet.

Thanks for the info. The drain is 1.75 inches and te return is 1.5 inches. What size bulkhead would I need for a durso? I went on the site and it said that you would need 1.25 inch PVC and a 1.25 to 1 inch adaptor as well as a 1 inch bulkhead for a 1 inch drain. And do you think it would fit? The inside dimensions are 5.75 inches by 4 inches.

Well no matter what you do, based on the sizes of the holes, you need a 1" bulkhead for the drain, and a 3/4" for the return. Do the return in 3/4" all the way. I would just do 1" PVC on the drain, since you would need to reduce it down inside the overflow anyways. It will likely be tight, but you just may be able to fit a durso if you keep the 90 nice and tight to the tee and face the elbow to the upper left (when looking at your last photo).

So I would buy bulkheads to fit the holes and then buy adapters for the PVC pipe, or would a 1 inch bulkhead fit the 1.75 inch hole?

So for the return, would I buy an elbow and then attach a 3/4 inch piece of loc line with a flare nozzle at the end?
