I currently am running a Eshopps Hang on the Back protein skimmer and I have not had any problems in the past with microbubbles, but now it is just spewing microbubbles into the DT.

How do I stop these microbubbles? Anyone have this skimmer and see the same problems?

    Please help.

And place the filter sock directly on the out tube of the skimmer? Is that an eyesore for your tank?

yea that's how i have mine, it is a bit of an eyesore, but sooooo much better than a million microbubbles in the tank

Must be something wrong with your adjustment.. have patience and keep tuning it until you find the right setting, I have the most complained about skimmer(prizm) and after enough tweeking I don't have a single bubble coming out of the thing

What kind of tweaks are you speaking of? Do you mean adjusting the level of water in the skimmer? What other adjustments could be made?

it has a flow adjustment right? that decides how much water/air is pushed through your skimmer.

keep messing with it. the key is to get it to a good adjustment (not filling your collection cup with water to fast, but enough flow to get skimmate into the cup). if it is a decent skimmer there should be a happy medium with no bubbles.

you gotta be patient after you make an adjustment, i noticed what looked to be a good adjustment at the moment seemed to change a bit over a 10 min period then constant after that.

again this is just my experience, im no expert at skimmers. yet i do have mine down to a science.

Alright, I will keep that in mind and keep tinkering with it.

Useful tips, especially the patience part about changes over 10 min before stable.

I'm adjusting my skimmer and knowing that it does change within the first short interval (10 min) makes what I've seen make much more sense.
