What ways do you guys add water to your tank after you take some out? Say you do a 10-15% water change. What's your process?

I trickle the water into the back of my HOB. Not only is it being introduced into the tank slowly, but it's also being mixed with 330gph flow first, as well.

I just have a large enough sump that i can leave everything running and just hook a pump up, drain the water, and then replace it without turning anything off at all. quite simple ;)

I mix my water up and use a pump to replenish the tank.

mix a bucket of RO/DI with salt a day or more prior with a maxi 1200 pump. Take some tubing and connect the pump to it, throw it in my sump and pump out the water, throw the maxi into the new water bucket and pump it back into the sump, easy as pie :)

I have a 75 with a 25 gallon sump. I mix 10 gallons of salt 1 or 2 nights in advance. Then I clean my sump and and siphon 10 gallons out of the sump and DT. While this is going on, I have a separate heater I use to heat up the 2, 5 gallon buckets of the premade saltwater. After I have extracted 10 gallons from the sump and DT, I reverse siphon the 10 gallons of fresh saltwater into the sump where it can be evenly distributed into the DT.

Good posts everyone. I need to copy some of you, I never let the salt sit for a day. I mix it, check the salinity a couple times, and slowly pour it in.. noob mode

I mix mine the day before and aerate it for a day, the next day I use and extra pump fitted with pvc flex hose to pump out the old water, then put the pump and hose into the barrel of new water and pump it into the sump. unplug the pump and dump the last couple inches of water that the pump couldnt get right into the display tank
