The title says it all. I'm not sure about the best way to clean out my filter sock. I have been rinsing it out with warm water and then flushing with RO water, but it doesn't seem to get very clean.

soak it in hot water and bleach, run it through the washing machine on hot with a little more bleach, NO SOAP. Run through the washer again with nothing but water. If it still smells like bleach at all, soak in Prime or some other dechlorinator. Good to go...

How often should this be done? As of now I am running the sock 24/7.

I have tried bleach twice now for the filter sock. First I soak overnight in bleach water, then I machine wash on super delicate two times. It does come out looking like new. The only down side is the huge amount of microbubbles created by the overflow while the sock is off.
