For a really good cleaning, try some trinitrtoluene.;D

Seriously though, AquaRemora C, cup done weekly with bottle brush. Whole unit 5 or 6 months with vinegar. Usually will see a marked decrease in output, then I know it's time to clean.

I'm a weenie and can't handle any bad smells (instant migraines and nausea). I rely on my gal to do the cup cleaning, though she did muck it up the last time. The first time I cleaned it was scraping it with a toothpick to get all the chunky stuff and still leave the good slime.

I have a coralife ss--I just rinse the cup every few days and use finger under running water to clean the slime off the cone--total clean out every 3-4 mo.

I run it strong, 3/1 vinegar/water. Run it for a couple hours, then scrub everything I can get at and rinse well.
