put your clean up crew first at the end of your cycle. and then you do all your fancy tests and if your tank passes you add a seahorse or two.

    also mission
it will work, because urea is in your urine, urea is easily broken down into ammonia.
shouldn't be your first choice the food method or live rock should

I'm not doubting whether it will work or not. I know it will. Just doesn't seem like appropriate advice to someone that is asking "how do you cycle a tank?" And I was only saying "not" to do it from the angle that it's rediculous and should be done only in an emergency. Not quite sure what kind of an emergency would constitute bleeding the lizard to get things started. An interesting fact to point out though.

the only stories i heard of it being used is when people are cycling a really large tanks over 500 gallons. Urine, when a damsel just won't do. that should be the motto

LOL, I'm not starting a fight. I just think it's funny. I think peeing in our tanks to start the cycle should become standard protocol just for the humor of it all. The tank logs would have some interesting day 1 pics. :D

    I can picture it:

"Day 1: I peed in the tank to start the cycle"

    Luna: "PICS!"
