How do you do it?

I was at my LFS this weekend and I noticed in the DT they showcase up front the stuff in there are growing like crazy white tip everywhere, birdnest, mont, clams, honest nest, frogspawns, touch etc.....

so I asked the guy that cares for the tank what are you doing to make them grow so fast, when he started to talking I felt like I was back in chem class,

"with bottles ranging from part A to G and you have to dose this every day and this every two days and if this starts to happen stop using that and use this set of part A to F ,then add this for sps color bah bah bah bah ." my eyes started to glaze over and that was it, all I heard was SCAT (who will be the first to pick up on that term ;D) from that point on.

So my question to everyone is what do you dose your DT with to help it grow and keep its bright color?

It's a tough question as everyone will most likely be dosing different things. I've been in the aquarium hobby for over ten years but in the reef hobby for approximately two years. I've had great growth and pretty much the same dosing and water change routine for the duration of the two years and with good results but of course certain things that work for me wont necessarily work for you but I will share my maintenance schedule with you.

I dose my main three on my 100g (CA, ALK, and MG) with a Bubble Magus Triple Doser.
Specifically to me, Daily I dose 65ML over four dosing periods for CA and ALK. I dose 15ML of MG over two periods.

In addition, I dose Elos Omega Amino Acids. Ten drops of this daily in the AM. If i notice a small surge of hair algae, I stop for a couple of days.

I do 25% water changes every two weeks. On the week I don't do the water change, I dose 20 ML of strontium and iodide on the first day of the week. Hope it helps. It's always nice to hear what people's routines are since it differs.

And my numbers which are rock solid consistent thanks to my dosing habits.

420ppm CA, 10.2 KH, 1400ppm MG, 8.2 PH, .2ppm Nitrates, 0ppm PO4
