Completely unnecessary without a heavy SPS coral load. You'll just end up having your alk go higher and higher without anything using it. I've had my tank set up for a year with coral and have dosed maybe 3-4 times with sodium bicarbonate.

When you get a few more corals start monitoring your calcium, alk, and mag and decide then if kalk is worth it.

I use 2 part on a daily basis and really like it

7 is perfect for softies if you keep it there. It should really deplete itself with a minimal amount of coral, especially soft ones.

The way you dose is to test over a specific interval of time and see what your tank consumes (typically over a day). Then that's what you add to the tank to keep it stable. You probably won't see significant change with the coral you're looking to add. Water changes should do the trick for you.

Either or, honestly. Reef Crystals will keep your calc., mag and alk. levels a bit higher. I use both.
