I was thinking about this the other day when I was browsing at my LFS

I know how to feed fish with flakes, that's easy, but what about:

Live Brine Shrimps OR Frozen Food?

Do you turn off your filtration units?

When I feed mysis shrimp my fish & critters are such voracious pigs it rarely gets into my pumps or prefilter.  Each tank is different and may need to have the circulation pumps shut off.

How about frozen food? You defrozed the portion from the water in the tank (with a separate container) and then just dump them in when ready?

I defrost in a bowl of hot water, drain off excess fluid which contains uneeded Phosphates and Nitrates, and then add Kent Zoe Vitamins or dry Cyclopeeze, and put in the tank. I leave the mysis in it's plastic container until it goes in the tank.

i usually turn my filter off and put in the flake or pellet, then when i thaw the frozen in a cup with tank water i turn off the power heads also. i use a turkey baster because i feed the faster more aggresive feeders on the right side then while there eating i feed the slower shyer fish that come out on the left side like the firefish, mandarin. i also use sinking pellets to for the engineer gobies and lawnmower blenny they like there food off the bottom
