How do you pronounce chaeto?

I always say chay-toe. lol

 

haha great question I say it too different ways.
For the people at a fish store that I don't know and don't know me:
Ki(long "i")- toe (like your big toe )

For all my reefing buddies and when I just don't care what people think ...hehe

Cheat- toe (yes like orange "cheetoz" my most favorite orange snack but singular)

I always thought it was 'chee-toe'
will give me something to ask about next time I'm at the LFS, they love correcting my pronounciation there. Like apparently my wrasse is a 'la-bout-ee' not a 'la-booty' lol

 

Ha,funny thread.I know it's not correct,but i still call it cheetoe,i've heard it pronounced so many different ways,most around here call it spagetti algae,i think it's because they can't say it right either.

 

I can never pronounce it because I always say cheeto also. So now I just call it that green brillo stuff!

 

I thought it is "kai-toe-mor-fa" like Chiron the god and planetoid.

 

I call it Kailen...OJ style
