With having an inch or so between the baffles for the bubble trap how do you silicone into those tight areas?

Put the middle baffle in first - you can silicone both sides of that.

Then the outside two baffles - I have only ever siliconed the one outside side which is accessible. I am sure others have rigged applicators but the baffles only have to hold themselves up. When the sump is full of water and the water level is about even on both sides of the baffle there is almost no force being applied to it in any direction so the one sided silicone job will suffice for most applications IMO.

That's kinda what I was thinking, just wanted to see if there was some other trick. Should the baffles fit tight? I am assuming yes.

I generally have them cut so that they are about 3/16" shorter than the sump is wide. You will not want to be forcing them into position as they baffles with then "bow" and could crack. The silicone is only there literally to "hold" the baffles - not so much "bond them permanently" to the glass as silicone will not bond to acrylic but it does bond to glass.

Do the baffles at least 1.5" inches for a total of 3" bubble trap. More effective and also easier to silicone.

Another trick is to use a piece of hose on the end of the caulking tube to reach those hard to get at spots.
