Ok well I really don't get how this thing works... and please no one provide any BS; I really need one to get rid of all this disgusting algae I have... and nitrates keep coming up because of tapwater... Also any good ro/di units out there? Which are the best?

Change filter every 6month. Test your water with a tds meter.

Typhoon III from air water ice. It's a good system that has worked for me. RO/DI filters work by sending tap water through a series of filters that remove heavy metals, nitrates, phosphates, any dissolved solid in the water and spits out pure water at the end. I'm not sure exactly what kind of filters the water goes through, but I know it includes a sediment filter, a carbon block, a 5 or 10 micron filter, and an RO membrane. It should give you 0 TDS water, which should help your algae problem.

TDS Meter is to see how clean your water is. You want zero TDS, spectrapure units come with one.

The Typhoon III also comes with a TDS meter. Both good options, just do some research and pick out the one you like.

This one seems to be at a really low price on the website, and if it's that good, then maybe I'll get it. I'm not on a budget, but I've already used up A LOT of money lol. does the typhoon III come with a TDS meter, and is it TYPHOON 5 Stage RODI Reefkeeper 75 or 100 GPD or [IMG]
TYPHOON III AQUARIUM RODI 75 or 100 GPD
