I have had a sailfin for about 18 months and he has never had a white line down his back or spots like that. Not sure what that would be from. Mine will get darker or lighter brown in whole depending on his mood but no lines or spots. Mine does not really change color depending on day or night, it is more from his mood.

It may get a nick on him every once in a while, from the rocks or crabs but no lines or spots.

The tail on mine is almost completely yellow where that one is mostly clear and mine does not have such pink lips. This could all just be different colorations specific to that fish but they are some noticable differences from mine.

I have never seen lines like that on mine. I would probably pass.

Ontop, I saw those white spots in the pic also, but there not in the other pic so I wrote them off as something on the dirty glass. This guy is around 5" or so and is only $20, and I do have a cycled QT ready. Ill try to get a hold of the guy and maybe offer to only take it in as a rescue (free), otherwise ill pass.

My yellow tang was super skinny and looked like death when I got him, and is now one of the healthiest ones I've seen in person. He had ich and was skinny, but didn't have hlle . . . This sailfin is a little out of my comfort zone for recovery, but might be worth a shot.
