I bought a coral frag of blasto merleti offline from an actual store. It was shipped and arrived in poor condition and didn't make. It wasn't anyone's fault, sometimes corals just ship poorly. There is a risk associated with buying corals offline of shipping them. Both parties should be aware of it. So for the zoas, you can't do anything about them looking poor now.

I was a mail carrier who resigned last year. You said you are not in business just a person trying to sell a few corals and make a few bucks. I would not worry about that buyer. If you were in business then you might want to make them happy for repeat business. As far as USPS they are doing very poorly and are not easy to get money back from and they throw packages around all the time and they care the least amongst all companies (USPS, UPS and Fed Ex) because postal employees have a secure job and cannot get fired unless they really F up like I did. (I fell and fractured my ankle on the job)

open bag policy once they open bag then it is theres. I would state this from now on. Also overnight from usps has a 100 dollar automatic insurance. It is real cause something happend to me and they coved the cost of the coral. but the buyer has to go after this.

Personally I would not replace those items after 1 1/2 weeks worth of who knows what kind of water quality etc. JMHO....

And if I had a frag that I reglued in my tank and then it went floating off....I did that and wouldn't expect the seller to replace that. That's just crazy!

Happens a lot here. It's easier and cheaper than the company dealing with the injury reports and disability.

What about workman's comp?! What about potential litigation?! What are the employees options for restitution? Sorry for the hijack but this is baffling me

Well, at least here, we are considered a "right to work state". You work or you don't get paid. There is no workmens comp or temp disability. There is also no "wrongful termination" or unemployment. The individual (employee) can get insurance to help with these sorts of things, but the state nor employee has any hand in it at all. You can be fired because your boss didn't like the number of steps you took from the parking lot to the front door ;)
It has it's downfalls, but it definitely has it's upsides as well ;)
