How Fast Can I Raise My Alk Level?

Does it matter how fast I raise my alk level since the tank has no fish or corals in it? Currently, it's sitting at about 6.5 dkh and I want to get it up to about 9 dkh.

 

With no livestock you can raise it, personally I would be happy with 8 depending on where your Ca and Mag are sitting, oh SG as well.

 

Thanks for the response! My Ca is at 430ppm and Mag is 1460. S.G. is 1.026.

 

Then just watch your salinity and other values after you get the alk where you want it, test again and adjust and fine tune while you wait for live stock. What salt mix are you using?

 

I'm using reef crystals.

 

Then the Alk will come up with water changes as well.
