House temp is 72, tank temp is 78-79, 500 watts of MH for 10 hrs and I have to replace around 4 gals every 2-3 days. Luna

My auto top off does the work now but before I installed it I was dumping about 5 gallons a day in...
I also run a dehumidfier since the tank is in the basement.

Our temp (house and world) fluctuates wildly here from day to day along w/humidity. This makes it hard to guage for me.

But I was losing about 1G every other day. Then I added a skimmer and now I add 1G every day. (Not science, memory, so my numbers aren't exact :p).

Seems like skimmer made this happen faster...

I put in 5 gallons every couple days. Its probably about 1.5-2 gallons a day out of a 90. Room temperature is 67-68 and tank temperature is about 80, which I realize I should bring down a degree or two. There is a wooden canopy but no glass tops on anything. I have a trickle down to my sump which I think encourages evaporation.

I add about 2 gallons a day with a 72 gal tank. Running without a top on the tank or sump/fuge. Tank is at 81F, house is at 72F.

My tank makes a great humidifier and sure looks better than any humidifier you can buy at Home Depot.
