how high is to high for a fixture?

    I have 2x250w 14K MH and 4Bulb T5 light over my tank it was at about 6-8" off the water surface just finished my canopy and its about 12-13" is that to high?

    Its about right. AI dont know if you have sps or not but if you do and if they start looking like they are burning then raise the fixture up. if they are losing their color the drop the fixture. Mine are about 15 inches above the water level.

    Thanks guys was worried it was to high I made it for about 50$ spray painted with the textured paint then stuck it up there lol looks a bit more modern cause its a open canopy let me see if i can upload a pic of it.
