Hi, I am trying to figure out my cooling situation before my kit comes.

I ordered a Rapid LED 24 CREE LED setup... How hot will this heat sink get? Id like to run the fans as low as possible to lower the noise level of my tank. Currently I my fans need to be running full blast with my Nano Tuners 4.36 kit.

    Any ideas?

They can reach 150 or higher.

So I'm still stuck in the era of having loud fans? My current kit sounds like my tank is about to take off. Currently I'm pushing out 149.5 F air out of my exhaust port.

Depends on the quality of your fans. See if you can find some computer case fans that run quiet.

I swapped out the stock fans for SilenX fans... I can't hear them run unless I almost press my head against the lid of the tank, and I have very good hearing. Quiet enough it's easier to "hand check" to see if they're on than ear check. The stock fans are terrible for noise... and one of mine even failed around 1.5 months in.

    Jimmy-

What stock fans are you talking about? The Rapid LED, BioCube or NanoTuners?

The stock biocube fans... the ones in the hood. It's possible I misunderstood which fans you were talking about. I built my own LEDs and modified the existing hood fans (as they do vent the splash shield) instead of trying to cramp fans into the splash shield when I had filled it with heat sink and lights.

No worries! I got different fans with my NanoTuners kit and they sound like my tank is going to take off.

In all fairness, my fans spin decently slow (part of why they're so quiet) and the out going air never feels even above ambient.
