also forgot to mention that if your dialysis unit is using crit line. that is a small machine which will tell you how much fluid is being removed out of your RBC more accurately than the dialysis machine. some patients remove fluid more easily than most. may i ask which company you dialyze of? if you don't mind.

So I probably should has stated this earlier, but if you are learning about dialysis through me DON'T I'm such an odd patient that you would just be getting bad info on what most people go through. The scale is very big and "state of the art". I mean think about it, this is just about one of the most important applications for a scale out there, so it's pretty good, pulse I complained, thinking it was the problem. I mean a lot of people would be in a lot of pain if that scale had problems. Ya I'm on hemo and that could be part of it because the machine will "pull" off a varied amount. I don't remove any fluid, in fact it's like I've got a leek some where. Mazaj run this by your wife and see what reaction she gives. I'm sick and get dehydrated when I'm sick (I also pass fluid quite a bit) so today (over 3.5 hrs) I got 3 letters of saline (3kilos) and dropped 1.4 in the bathroom natural. I came up a total of .9 and the machine should not have taken anything off me. That's a .7 difference, so many be the machine can't stop like they say it can? Again I'm weird almost no dialysis patient should get extra fluid let alone 1 letter of it, so if you don't know about dialysis don't take my experiences for a good example. I'm not trying to complain I have it pretty good for some one on dialysis, I just can't figure out what's happening.

I will look into this, thanks. I'm at satellite and I would not recommend them to anyone. I'm there because it's a bit of work to go some where else, but I watch things like a hawk.

sorry man but satellite don't use crit lines. and since yo mention it you should be in the bay area (cali).
i wanna ask you this since you do dialysis with satellite. are you aware that at the start of your treatment they DUMP .3 of saline to remove any traces of renalin on the dialysis lines? just asking. maybe it is something that they never mentioned to you about.
based on experience, i have seen patients who are even worse than your case. but like mazaj's wife say since she is a nephrologist that .3 to .5 discrepancy is not that unusual.
plus satellite dialysis is no longer as good as it once was. before they have dedicated machine technician working on PM (preventive maintenace) on the dialysis machine every month. now they call in someone to work on machines whenever something breaks down. how do i know? i have friends that work for satellite, from secretaries to re-use tech, to dialysis techs to nurses even machine techs. heck their machine tech before were top notch, now they just promote pct's to machine tech without even proper background in dialysis machine repair and maintenance.
just a suggestion on your next tx and see if it makes any difference using a different machine if there will still be a discrepancy with your post weight. if it's still the same, then you belong to the special people that takes fluid off easily than most and your kidney is partially functioning.

ya I have some function! I really do believe positivity (and my fish tank :LolLolLol) have helped me. I'm aware of the renalin and they show me the test strips every time. Like I said I would not recommend satellite to anyone (or davita for that matter), but I have my reasons for not going some where else.
