I just added a rock of green star polyps to my tank last night, I acclimated them a decent amount of time, longer then I did with my zoanthids and ricordia, I also have porites on the rock with the zoanthids, all coral is great except the stars...they have been closed since they were bagged yesterday, they went in right before lights out last night and arn't even a little open today, I just now moved them into an area with higher light and better flow...any ideas...how long before I should worry about them...they looked great at the LFS yesterday...

You can try brushing them off with an old toothbrush or other soft bristled brush under a powerhead to remove any debris (they are very sensitive to them). But I wouldn't worry too much yet. GSP's can randomly close up for sometimes a week or more

Mine didn't open up for around a week, maybe more after I brought them home. I wouldn't worry for a long time yet. I had to play with mine a little to find somewhere they were happy. They can survive in low light, but like higher light, so if they don't improve, try moving them closer to the top of the tank.

when I moved them just about an hour ago I put them at the highest spot, about 10-12 inches under my 192 watt PC lights, I have a 96watt 20,000K and a 96 watt actinic...they are about 6 inches under the waters surface in an area with good but not a crazy amount of flow...I guess I have a while to wait before I worry about them then...

I wouldn't worry about it right now as it is still too soon before beginning to stress. Give the stars a chance to acclimate to their surroundings, water parameters, water flow and lighting.
You may want to try to move the zoanthids, that are on the same rock as your Porites, because the Zo's could overgrow and kill your Porites. Also, try to place and limit the growth of the star polyps to a particular part of your tank. They are notoriously fast growers and will emcompass, zo's as well as other corals, sponge or Gorgonians. I had this problem with my brown star polyps growing over and consuming one of my zo colonies. I had to remove the star polyps or they would have taken over my zo's which was beginning to happen.

yeah, the zoa and proite rock is gonna need work anyway when I have a spare hour or so, I need to take the zoas and porites off it cause there is some algae on it I just can't beat, its not bryopsis but its grean and a pain in the ass, it isnt hair algae either but similar...it hasnt really spread much off the rock luckily...so I'll sort that out soon, maybe sunday night or monday after work...I'd like to scatter these about a little, the stars I mean, I saw a pic of them on the back wall of a tank and it'd be nice to attach them to the overflow box for my remora skimmer...just to hide that big black box
