how long can a tank go with out filtration

    I've moved my sand and never had an issue. That is just me. I kept it moist in between the tank moves.

    I moved my 2 your old 75G tank from one house to a new one and lost almost everything.
    The reason is so much nitrite and other nasty things like Ammonium sulfide builds up in the sand bed. when you move it you bring this out of the sand and into your water. I rinsed my sand for 15 minutes until the water ran clear and still did not do enough to avoid the harmful effects of what was trapped in the sand. For the amount of money you have invested in your coral and fish, I think the cost of a few bags of sand is worth it

    BTW if you don't disturb the sand and just move the tank with the sand bend in place you likely did not release any thing

    my 10g after my 29 gallon broke, i upgraded to 34. My livestock has been sitting there for 3 weeks now, and they are fine. All i have is heater, and 5lb of live rock, with powerhead faced upwards. Water change 1 gallon a day

    it is not dry i mean it is in tank saltwater the whole time. i really do not know what you mean by cured

    ya i did buy new sand and i do plan on seeding it with a little of my old sand. thanks for the input.
