I have a can that has been open for about 9 months now and it's not in the freezer. Is it all clumped up or still a fine powder?

I had a bar that was lost in my freezer and was open. The covering fell off and it was exposed to air. It had freezer burn so I tossed it. It did not smell right...and was grey color! It was probably in there for 8 months or so...I am sure it was fine other then the part that was freezer burned but just to be safe I tossed it. But that is just me.....I toss more stuff::)

I just found a package of krill and silversides in the back of my freezer too. They are still sealed. I would imagine if it is still sealed as it was from the factory, it should be ok, but check for expiration dates or use-by dates. Then smell it to see if they pass the nose test. On the flip side, my brine shrimp cubes are freezer burned on top, so they are getting tossed.

I treat it just the same as food for my family, after 6 months it probably should be tossed . Even if it doesn't have freezer burn the nutritional value is starting to go.
