i'm not sure how much carbon i used, should be around 150 grams of it.
water volume should be around 900 litres

I started vodka dosing about 4 months ago and stopped after 2 months, I was seeing a massive reduction in algae and my nutrient levels had dropped rapidly. I stopped because I was getting a large amount of cyano in one of my tanks plus I don't think that vodka alone is the best carbon source to dose for your fish.
Cyano can use and feed on the carbon source also as it is a form of bacteria.
I am currently growing my own bacteria by causing massive blooms in small coffee jars and dosing that in addition to the carbon source (I'm now using a mixture of sugar, vodka and distilled vinegar). I am dosing bacteria to out compete the cyano and carbon source to feed the bacteria.

I am refining the bacteria and still working on the best mixture of carbon source. When I get it perfect I will be writing an article. So far the results are looking good. I am turning my well fed fish with soft coral tank into a well fed fish with stony coral tank and perfect water conditions.

You should add the carbon at a rate of 1g/litre if added passively in your sump, you could halve this amount if using a reactor for the carbon. The carbon is quite essential if your thinking of going the organic carbon (vodka, sugar, vinegar) dosing route.

Forgot to mention carbon should be replaced each month.

yes this is very true.there will be a massive reduction in algae..usage of anything in excess is bad...friend can you tell me what do you mean by cyano
