Just a thought, like for us humans we generally live a little more than 2/3 of their total lifespan after reaching maximum size, how about fishes? ;D

generally speaking (there are plenty of exceptions) fish grow their entire lives... the growth just slows down once they hit maturity.

I read about someone saying that had a Green Chromis for 14 years. Normally I think it's 7-8 for them..

One of my buddies has had a goldstripe maroon for 21 years. It hasn't gotten substantially bigger in over a decade but he's still there.

my lfs has a gold stripe also and she said it was 16 years old. i would guess it was 6-8 inches long and about 2 inches thick, really mature looking fish and mean as a snake too!! she had me to try and keep it occupied while she reached in the tank to get me some coral.

21 years is a long time, and quite impressive in my opinion! Geez! I'm with Puffer Chick on this one, its weird that its older than I am. Pictures maybe? A thread dedicated to "really-freakingly-impressive-old-fish"? Haha
