I've always had a ton of coralline growing, but lately it has just taken off i have a lot of teal/red not all purple yet, but it's just really taking off.

Is there any specific amount of time that it takes for the coralline to hit the glass, i'm starting to think it will be soon, just because of how fast it has taken off on the rocks.

if you scrape at the coraline the spores will get in the water and spread to all surfaces. the teal colored one sounds cool, got any close ups?

i would take a pic but my camera's dead lol i'll look through my photos to see if i have any. If not i'll buy some batteries tomorrow and take some close ups. And i'll do the scraping tomorrow during maintenance to see if that helps spread the stuff even more

I dunno about the glass, but after 2 months my coralline has spread to my equipment, so I'm guessing glass is next. Uh-oh!

    Glad yours is spreading!

I'm not sure I would wash that in the machine, but if you do, run it through a rinse cycle empty before you put the sock in and do NOT use any type of detergent - most will kill all your fish after just a few hours of exposure, not to mention what it will do when the residue gets into the skimmer
