This is very interesting. When i first got into corals i was under the impression that Strong lighting and nutrients in the water were all i needed for corals to grow. Then i started hearing about "dosing" and "two part" and calcium alk etc. Once i started paying attention to these levels and bringing my levels up to par, i started seeing lots of growth. I think for the most part reef keepers have strong lights, and people do feed their fish so in a sense they also feed their corals. But i know alot of people who don't test, sometimes dose, but don't pay attention to these levels (I was one of them), and once i started keeping my levels steady things started to grow faster. So i'm saying steady calc and alk at the right levels will def help. And i strongly suggest a doser.
