Well i just got done with an exhausting two hours of maintance on my tanks. I scraped algae off of my puffer's 20 gallon tank, did a 5 gallon water change, then i did my reef, did a 5 gall water change and poured the water into my puffer's tank. Then i scraped the glass, cleaned the skimmer, then i did my firebelly toads tank which took up some time as well. And i am exhausted now.

Edit: guess i should add feeding and topp offs, it takes me about 10 minutes max to feed the reef, my puffer and my toads. and about 2 seconds to do topp offs on my reef and puffers when it needs to be done

So if it takes me this long to do my tanks how long does it take you to do yours?

I dont spend any where near that time. It takes me 5-10 mins cleaning out the filter pads( once a week), 7 mins on cleaning the skimmer(once a week) 2 mins replacing top off water(every 3 days), 10 seconds dosing supplements(every other day) and maybe 10 mins, on feeding(daily).

most of my stuff is automated so my maintenance is cleaning skimmer and scraping coralline and I usually end up redoing my flow...

depending on my mood, 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on what all I'm doing.

Ive never tried to quantify the time I spend to be honest
I did roughly measure the time it took to strip and re set up the tank
but routine maintenance, water changes, glass scraping , top ups, foods and additives
maybe an average of 30 mins per day , with a fortnightly extra 30 mins doing stubborn areas like coralline on front glass and also the tank side walls

Around 10 mins a day. I use a mag float every other day to clean the glass. I feed my fish 2-3 mins every day (food preperation). top off 2 times a day 15 sec. stare at tank a solid 5 mins up close everyday just checking things out. mix 5 gal water once a week. 10mins max to change it. 10-15 mins once a week testing. The key for me is by doing a little something everyday can save me from hrs at one time trying to catch up.

your lucky, i would expect a big tank like yours to take a long time

wow must be nice to have auto everything, is your water changes some how automated also?

same here, i dont look at the time when im doing maintance, i just look at the clock before i begin and when im done, i dont take a brake either i just work straight through just to try to get it all done and over with.

30 min a day, not to horrible
