How long does your CUC last??

I have been thinking about this so I figured I would ask.

What is the life span of hermits, snails in an aquarium?
How often do you have to replace?

 

Our hermits seem to be bulletproof but its hit or miss with snails. Some snails are pretty hardy but can become in danger if a hermit decides it wants their shell. Alot of people recommend turbo snails but IMO they suck. Ours either knock over everything, commit suicide or just drop dead for no reason at all. Once our last turbo croaks I doubt we will buy any more.

I got this CuC put in my tank Oct 2 of last year. I have lost a few - and some have multiplied (I have more nasarius now than I did ).

So I'd say it lasts at least a year... but I've got no reason to think it won't last me another year at least; if not more. Eventually I'll probably have to supplement a few here or there.

 

Turbos suck for me 2, they dont last very long but I have three hermit crabs and three astreas that I have had for close to a year now. I'm about to buy a CUC also
