How long for skimmate!!

    well i just got a new skimmer and its been a while since i've had a brand new one. how long does it normally take to build up some dirty nasty stuff!!!

    On average it should take a couple of days to break-in. After this period you can adjust it to produce a "wet skimmate" or "dry skimmate" by turning the air intake valve.

    what height should i start the bubble out at? i have it right at the bottom of the neck, should i start somewhere else?

    The foam (in the cone) should be about one inch from the bottom of the cup. Let it run like this for a couple of days.

    do you mean from the top of the collection cup? or from the bottom of the neck?

    The foam in the cone should be about an inch or so from the bottom of the collection cup. Let it run like that for a couple of days and then adjust. The higher the foam goes the wetter the skimmate and the faster the collection cup fills.

    does it make a difference if my skimmer is not exactly level?? its kinda cocked to one side a little bit but im not sure if it would make a difference or not?
