    Ive been keeping saltwater tanks since 1994, so that would be 14 years now... wow im getting older all that time too!

    Bought my first 55 gal in 1988. It's been a den of algae ever since. If I harvested all the hair algae ever grown in that tank, I could fill a supermarket. Now I'm past the algae, and into reefing. Haven't turned around once.

    Funny thing, once you keep corals, the algae stay away if you do it right. I should have gone reef 20 years ago!

    I have no idea if I've answered this yet, but just in case I haven't, I'll do it again! I've done freshwater since I was a young kid, but I've been in saltwater for 8 months or so.
