I added a gumdrop coral croucher to my tank thursday evening, havent seen him since thursday night. It's been 48hrs and no sign of him anywhere, im getting kind of worried because he has to be spot fed and i havent been able to since i have no idea where he is hiding, or if he's even alive. I put the moonlight back on the tank and didnt even see him late at night

I know these guys are shy and hide in the rocks/corals and not a swimmer. I just worry about him going hungry, i think he's alive but i just havent seen any sign of him.

When should i start to really worry about him if he doesnt come out, when i saw him thursday night it was for a few quick seconds then he darted into the rocks, so he's somewhere in there but i just dont know where :(

I hate that. Not much you can do but hope it comes out before he gets to skinny. Took my pink bar goby a few days before it came out from hideing. If you move stuff around to find it you risk freaking it out even more.

Not much you can do at this point unless you plan on pulling everything out to find him...

Have you tried garlic soaked food to see if he will come out? If I ever put something in the tank, i always keep an eye on my cleaner shrimp - the last gumdrop i found him being carried around by the cleaner shrimp (and I had to fight the dead fish from his hands)

hmmm maybe mine will be the same, i havent seen any of the CUC act like they've been eating a dead fish so that gives me some reassurance that he's at least alive, but where, who knows. I've been tempted to move stuff around to find him but havent for that reason, havent done much with the tank either except for a regualar water change and feedings

dont plan on pulling everything out, and yea i always feed garlic, i even did a late night feeding for him last night, and turned off all the pumps but then the damn chromis got to the food before it could even hit the ground.

sorry to hear about the loss of your previous gumdrop from the few seconds that i saw of him seemed like a really neat fish, my cleaner shrimp has done the same with previous fish but he acts normal, along with the other CUC
